Brendan Murphy unveiled his “NOLE XL” sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro during the opening of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The sculpture, measuring just over 18 feet high, celebrates the athleticism and spirit of world #1 tennis star, Novak Djokovic.
“I wanted to create something that really captures the dynamic energy and movement that the olympic athletes share.” Brendan said, “The sculpture itself is bigger than life, full of color, energy, and movement, much like the Olympic athlete. The Rio Museum Of Modern Art also provides the perfect platform for the whole world to see and share the beauty of the sculpture.”
Before leaving Brazil, Novak took time to visit the sculpture. To see his visit and hear his reaction, click on the video link at right.
